Children get the best education when the teacher, the parent/s, and the child all share the same goals. Homework helps students learn to study. It also gives them good practice and review of what they have learned in the classroom.
Homework can become a very important part of a child’s educational experience when:
- children accurately record daily assignments and turn in completed work on time
- parents set aside a special time and place for the completion of homework assignments
- teachers provide meaningful assignments with timely feedback to students.
Each child in grades K to 8 will have a minimum of 40 minutes of homework in reading and math each day.
